I think this is the most asked question posed to trials riders from the general public. "Where is your seat?" Over the years I have had a range of experiences from people not knowing that the seat is even gone until you point it out, to people directly asking where the seat has gone. I have heard stories where people think that the trials bike is a stolen bike and the trials riders is the thief. This is because people sometimes take off the seat when locking up their bike so that no one runs off with the seat and seat post. So when thieves steal the bike lock to the bike rack they steal a seat less bike. Luckily I've had no one accuse me of stealing my trials bike. That would be an awkward situation if the accuser is really out to lunch! So the following video, created by Sheldon Pearson, is a explanation to everyone why there is no seat on a trials bike. Enjoy and spread the word... |
