Yesterday was the quarter-finals here in Rotorua New Zealand. It was nice and rainy, with slippery logs and mud hills to ride. Other sections included rocks, cement pipes and blocks. Everyone qualified. Today we had the Semi-finals. I think all of us rode worse than we thought we should have, John and I both had bad first laps. The top 8 qualify in the finals. None of us moved onto the finals. Canadian Results: 10th John Webster 14th Jeff Anderson 16th Steve Dickin The finals were tonight, and the top three were: 1st Kenny Belaey 2nd Wesley Belaey 3rd Hannes Herrmann I think that this round was up for grabs for anyone. I beat Wesley in Canberra, good on him! The Canadian Team learn a lot from this trip; mostly to do with the competition style and riding smarts. I think that this is a good step towards the World Championships next year in Quebec. I'd like to thank Nicholas Vipond for doing all the registration work for all of the riders. We are coming home soon, so see you then! |
